Our Strategic Planning for Development
At St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School, strategic planning for the ongoing development of our school comprises three key pillars: our Current Detailed Development Plan, School Self-Evaluation, and External Validation Reports.
Our School Development Plan 2026–27 is a working document that articulates the overall aims and vision of our Catholic school. Drawn up in consultation with staff, governors, and pupils—with a summary overview shared directly with parents—it demonstrates how we endeavour to achieve our vision, uphold our mission statement, and maintain our school aims throughout the coming year. The plan directly drives school improvement, acts as a practical tool to monitor our overall effectiveness, and forms the core framework through which we engage in continuous self-evaluation.

Set within both local and national contexts, our strategic priorities this academic year are shaped by a child-centred approach to safeguarding, key government initiatives, and the unique characteristics of our learners—including dedicated support for our EAL, SEND, and Pupil Premium pupils.
We also remain focused on sustaining high Early Years outcomes (GLD), recruiting and mentoring Early Career Teachers, strengthening leadership roles, and continually stretching pupils to achieve greater depth across Reading, Writing, and Mathematics as we prepare for future inspection.
Throughout the year, our governing body maintains detailed oversight of the plan, regularly evaluating progress to ensure every objective directly benefits our pupils and wider school community.
