Monday 7th March 2022
We have arrived! The children were greeted by their instructors before going off to explore their bedrooms and being taken on a tour of the Manor Adventure grounds. After a quick pit stop of unpacking their things, the children began their activities for the remaining part of the day. The children described these as being amazing and wonderful! We can't wait for a full day of activities tomorrow.

The children enjoyed a hearty lunch, follwowed by free time and tuck shop, ready for the afternoon's activities. Mr Hetchin and Mr Allen took part in a climbing race... guess who won?
During the afternoon, groups 1 and 2 have completed the obstacle course and low ropes, groups 3 and 4 went sailing on the lake and group 5 went caving and bouldering. Another delicious dinner and some free time followed and then we were off to our final activity of the day. For groups 1 and 2 it was Manor Olympics, group 3 went to the low ropes, group 4 took part in caving and group 5 explored the grounds on a scavenger hunt.
After a long day, all children were happy to get back to their bedrooms to relax and talk about their day.

Wednesday 9th March
After a well deserved sleep, the children were ready to begin their day's adventure. During the morning, Group 1 took part in caving and enjoyed playing games in the dark! Group 2 enjoyed the orienterring course, where they worked well in teams to navigate their way around the grounds and group 3 had a great time learning how to sail across the lake and the children learnt how to steer their vessel in accordance with the wind current.
Throughout the day, groups 1- 4 learnt how to paddle board across the lake (all children managed to stand up on their paddle boards!) What an achievement! Group 5 took it one step further and enjoyed GIANT PADDLE BOARDING!
During the afternoon, group 5 had the chance to build a raft. The children were very supportive of each other and demonstrated great team spirit as they encouraged one other to help build the raft. Group 3 and 4 paddled across the lake in their individual kayaks, where they played a variety of games and had great fun!
After a delicious spaghetti bolognese and chocolate ecclair for dinner, the children embarked on their evening activities of manor olympics and rock climbing.

Thursday 10th March continued...
All the children are loving the different choices at breakfast and having morning chats with their friends and staff. Throughout the morning, groups 3 and 4 paddled around the lake in groups of 2s and 3s in canoe boats and group 5 kayaked across the lake. Groups 1 and 2 worked well in teams to create a raft to travel across the lake.
After a delicious burger, wedges and salad for lunch, groups 1 and 2 took to the lake for a double session of kayaking. Groups 3 and 4 loved giant paddle boarding and building a raft. Group 5 enjoyed canooeing in the sunshine!
A roast dinner was enjoyed by all- we think it was the doughnut for dessert that made it! After dinner, groups 1, 2 and 4 played different team games and group 3 did climbing and group 5 completed the low ropes course.

Our Year 6 children describe the week as the following....
"This experience has helped us bond physically and socially. We have made more friends with each other."
"I have enjoyed manor olympics and raft building."
"I liked the water activities because some of them I hadn't done before like canoeing."
"It was really nice to have your own appartment block to sleep in - it was a like a week long sleep over with your friends."
"I would like to stay another week."
"Can we come back next week?"
"I really enjoyed the different options that we could choose from at meal times, like burgers and pasta and there was plenty of food!"
The leaders here at Manor Adventure Norfolk Lakes have commented on how polite our children have been this week, their excellent behaviour and their enthuasism to all activities (even when they got wet!).
All our members of staff from St Peter's are very proud of our children. They have coped well organising themselves, getting everything ready for the day whilst still managing to keep their bedrooms clean and tidy. Unsurprisingly, the tuckshop was a highligh after dinner - huge thanks to the PA. Our current Year 6 have been a credit to themselves, their families and St Peter's. We know this trip will stay with the children forever!
Mrs Waterfield would like to thank; Miss Pitkin, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Cross, Mrs Jones, Mr Allen, Mr Hetchin, Miss Jeffs, Mrs Elsworth and Mrs Tisi for their time spent supporting, supervising and caring for the children throughout the week. Thank you all!
