Safeguarding at St Peter's
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility.
Our child centred and coordinated approach to safeguarding is known to all staff, governors, children, volunteer helpers and visitors to the school. We take prompt action to protect children from harm and ensure that all pupils achieve the best outcomes physically, emotionally, socially and academically.

'We feel safe because we feel comfortable telling any of the staff our worries, issues or problems.'
'We are regularly reminded to do these things by our teachers. Most of Year 5 and 6 walk to school and back home, so we are taught how to cross the road carefully, not to keep our phones out while walking and if we see anything we don't feel comfortable with while walking we know we could tell ANY of our teachers even though were not in school we can still tell.'
'We had a bikeability week teaching us how to safely ride our bikes to school. When we have problems at home we can tell any teachers.'
'We know not to use homeophobic language or to be racist bullies, bystanders or to put peer pressure on someone or to be mean for their religion. We know about our health and well being and that doing things like this can affect people's mental health and make them be someone they don't want to be which at St Peter's we do not tolerate.'
Our tell signs are a reminder to children to always tell a trusted adult if they have any concerns about themselves or their peers.
